Getting Started. Weber Law, LLC, provides a full array of legal services for nonprofits. If you are in the planning stages, our Jump Start program can help you get up and running efficiently and economically. We will help you incorporate, prepare your application to obtain tax-exempt status from the IRS and do all the work to make sure you are in compliance with state registration requirements. You will pay one low fee for a complete package of services that will create the legal foundation necessary for you to focus on building your organization.

Governance, Director Duty & Accountability. Nonprofits do not have owners. Instead, they are governed by a board of directors that adheres to governing documents that include articles and bylaws. Their activities are regulated by exempt organization tax law. Weber Law can help generate your governing documents and guide you in the creation of best practice procedures and standards, including regulations governing donation deductions and acknowledgment. We will help your board members understand their role and fiduciary duties and guide you on board and staff accountability and liability. We will help ensure that you meet all of the disclosure requirements mandated by law.

Revenue Generation & Business Transactions. Some nonprofits generate revenue through commercial activities like raffles, sweepstakes and casino nights or through the creation of for-profit subsidiaries and joint ventures. As your advisers, we help you make sure that these activities adhere to state and federal regulations and do not jeopardize your tax exempt status.

Foundations. We support and guide foundations in grant-making policies and procedures, operating requirements, donor requirements, investment policies, the creation of endowments and issues related to awarding scholarships, grants and prizes.

International Activities. Some of our clients work overseas and must comply with additional regulations and guidelines.
